It’s a hot one out there! Remember to bring plenty of water on your rides, or make sure there are convenient stops on your route to hydrate!
Club Updates:
If you haven’t voted on the summer jersey refresh, do so here: https://forms.gle/weBV4fRekS8TBCrB6 These jerseys are not meant for racing in, as they do not conform to our club colours, but great for everything else! There will be a PDF attached in your email with the full size previews. We will hold open the voting for another week.
Skill Clinics continue with session 2 tomorrow. Attached to this email is a PDF on our streams and the general lesson plans. The RSVP to the clinics are on strava. If you have any people in your life that want to come for just the skill clinics, we are offering a reduced rate for just the 4 session clinics and 1 regular club ride for $75. They may upgrade to a full membership for $50 after the clinics are over. Linkie: https://zone4.ca/register.asp?id=30802 and select the $75 option.

For the beginner session you will learn about the track and how to ride on it safely. Additional dates that we are at the track at May 19th and May 26th,.

The 2-up TT format is extremely accessible with no requirement for large group ride experience, and no need for additional equipment other than your bicycle and helmet (TT bikes and aero-bars are disallowed). Starts at Strathcona Olympiette Center at 7pm, with sign-on at 6:30pm. Sign-up here: https://zone4.ca/register.asp?id=31966 For more information, there is a PDF attached to this email. Ride Updates:
Reverse and forwards hills are a go - please make an effort to sign up to the ride that is best for you - we are trying to balance group sizes so that one ride or another does not get too big.
There are usually 2 rides on Saturday, with Regular and ERTC-Lite. These may be split further to ensure that groups stay below our soft-cap of 15 which is about the limit of a group size manageable by 1 ride leader. Make sure you RSVP appropriately.
Reminders:
All day-to-day club communication takes place on slack - you can join here: https://join.slack.com/t/edmontonroada-7u36621/shared_invite/zt-1t5qvezds-JotWB~e_EJcXrD9NArQarA on slack you can find out about upcoming events, access various chat areas and hang out with other club members!
All ride planning and updates happen on Strava. Don’t know what that is? Learn more here: https://www.ertc.org/joining-strava if you know what that is, then the link to our strava is here: https://www.strava.com/clubs/ertc - you will need to ask to join and I will let you in once I cross reference you with the membership list. It is highly recommended that you RSVP on strava so that we can plan for an appropriate amount of ride leaders and a suitable route for the group size.
Have a friend who isn’t sure about joining? They can sign the trial waiver here: https://zone4.ca/register.asp?id=31901 for 1 free ride. The ride can be any ride, but a heads up to the ride leader would be appreciated.
