Event Description: The Pigeon Lake Spring Classic is a Class “A” single-day road race sanctioned by the Alberta Bicycle Association (ABA) with ABA Road Cup points granted as follows: Places 1-10: 25, 20, 15, 12, 10, 8, 6, 4, 2, 1. PLRR is an important part of the 2012 Team Alberta Racing Program and is the 2012 Provincial Road Race Championships.
This is a mass-start road event with pack racing; therefore all riders must have a valid UCI license or ABA Citizen license. Single Event licenses will not be available.
Location: Sign on and muster at Mulhurst Bay Community Centre (MBCC). Please follow the directions of the parking marshal at the entrance to the parking lot at MBCC. There are separate areas for rider parking (on the west, around the baseball diamond), worker, race and official vehicle parking (east) and mustering (centre). Note Paralympic athletes get priority parking at the NE corner of the rider parking lot. Please contact the Organizer for details.
From Edmonton follow Highway 2 approximately 35 km south of Edmonton to highway 616, 13.9 km West on 616 to 795, 4.7 km South on 795 to 616 again, 12.0 km West on 616 to Mulhurst.
From Calgary or Red Deer follow Highway 2 approximately 80 km North of Red Deer to Highway 13, 10.2 km West on 13 to 795, 9.7 km North on 795 to 616, 12.0 km West on 616 to Mulhurst.
