Heyo, finally had a chance to catch my breath after the weekend and it’s the weekend again!
Gonna make this quick - please come out to our social event tonight at Plaza Bowl - RSVP at https://www.facebook.com/events/2463301423784154/ food and lane rental is on ERTC, but beer you will have to pay for on your own.
Our cross race was a huge success, and I’ll let the primary race organizer, Greg Nicholson tell you all about it! “On Sunday our annual cyclocross race the School of Cross took place at the Argyll Velodrome. A tough punchy, and spectator friendly course taking place mostly in the grassy bowl challenged racers in 20C+ heat. Afterwards racers were treated to food from the Purple Perogy food truck (something new we tried this year) and cold Blindman Beer. Thanks to the many volunteers that helped out, we can't put on events like this without you.
Congrats to everyone who raced. Notable results: Albert for his 3rd place in Novice men's, and first podium in CX (I think?). Danielle crushed the field in Sport Women and I think is going to have to upgrade to Open, while Jessica rounded out the podium for 3rd. Sarah had a solid 3rd in the Open Women. Good luck to everyone this weekend at the provincial championships at the Canmore Nordic Centre. Conditions are looking to be a bit winter-like!
Also, if you would like to get involved with race organizing (please?) or have a race idea for next year, contact either Albert or Greg. The ABA is having an early deadline for submissions, to set the race calendar by Christmas, so we need to think about these things a bit earlier than usual. ERTC will likely do Pigeon Lake Road Race, School of Cross, and maybe another event (gravel, TT, crit?)”
That’s all for now folks, until Monday!
